13-year-old boy found with a gun after fight

A 13-year-old boy was arrested late Saturday night after he was caught with a gun after a fight near Othello Playground.

Officers responded to the south side of the park, on S. Webster Street, just after 10:30 p.m. on the fight report. Seattle Police Det. Jeff Kappel says that the person who called in the original fight report called 911 back and said that guns had been drawn.

Once they arrived, an officer noticed that one male was trying to hide behind a parked car. When he noticed that police had spotted him, Kappel said the teen tried to run off.

Kappel said that the boy was caught after a short chase. The teen was found with a gun on him, and was arrested at the scene.
