Secrecy. The GOP grandstanding requires secrecy. After all, an ignorant public is in no position to challenge super patriots. The fearmongering is enhanced by the secrecy. The trustworthy officials who know more than us are telling us that civilian trials are dangerous. How can we doubt these people who have received secret briefings? And they tell us that civilian trials have the potential to reveal secret information that may put us at further risk of terrorist attacks. What? This sounds dangerous. Un-American. Reckless. Are civilian trials worth all this needless risk?
This is the sort of bullshit discussion that takes place when secrecy regulations are abused by corrupt politicians who hide their corruption by claiming they are super patriots. And a media that cheerleads for this garbage.

Why isn't the KSM fearmongering crowd upset about pre-9/11 government conduct? Don't they want to know how KSM remained free for years after Yousef was captured? Don't they want to know what Scheuer meant when he said "before 9/11 the Saudis protected Bin Laden." Don't they want to know why US intelligence appeared to protect al Qaeda operatives from arrest/surveillance/deportation?
