2. Harry Reid is knocking me out! |
|
I take back every bad word I articulated to my husband (all the grumbling). He and I may not agree personally about reproductive rights, but I found a comment in which he states that overturning Roe v. Wade would be harmful and something that America is not ready for.
Secondly, he stated that he would be furnishing material to Air America (good Demo. speeches, info.), and thanked them for their work. This is going to be very good for both Democrats in the Senate and the progressive community.
He came across as someone with a backbone, and very articulate.
And he took it to Clarence Thomas' court opinions (and he was absolutely correct there).
Although he stated that he would not impede Scalia as Chief Justice, I'll wait and see what his input will be at the time.
I was impressed.

I like the fact that he is going to continue fighting loudly for Democratic principles, and will provide information via Senate speeches to Air America.
I think that he understands that he is representing diverse views.
I'm positive that he does not 'support' Scalia, but is, rather, choosing his battles, and sees Scalia as the lesser evil.
This is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. I'm not in the 'F*' this and 'F*' that crowd.
We need to network, and this guy will help.

8. I'm warming up to Reid |
|
I don't think he'll allow Bush to brow beat him during their meeting today.
The Scalia issue is dismal, however. If he becomes the Chief Justice it's a terrible symbol for America. At this point, I think Reid is preparing us for the worst. As if it could get any worse.
