Trent Lott: Meet the Clinton's! |
|
Back in 2002 we lambasted Trent Lott and forced him out of his leadership position in the Senate for this comment:
"When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn’t have had all these problems over the years, either."
He spoke those words during the 100th birthday party of Senator Strom Thurmond. We pulled out the knives.
Bill Clinton has just called the first African American candidate with a shot at the White House a "fairy tale" and Hillary Clinton has accused him of providing "false hope" to American's. Hillary even went further by down playing Martin Luther King's role in the civil rights movement, saying it took a President (implying herself) to create real change.
There is virtual silence. Yet, I can tell you that I can't imagine a black person in America who did not hear her message loud and clear. I cannot believe that we're going to give the Clinton's a free pass after we went after Trent Lott. That is hypocrisy at its highest. That sends a very clear message to the Black Community: "I'm with you... so long as I'm not against you."
I hope Al Sharpton and Rev. Jessie Jackson take to the Air Waves and put things in prospective for American Voters. They need to be called on this. We cannot allow this to happen. It was disgusting, ugly, desperate and evil. I think the Clinton Campaign should apologize.

2. This is such bullshit. If Obama's camp had said the same thing it would be a non issue. |
|
And, to compare Trent Lott to the Clinton's is horse shit.

8. Yeah, right. This is ridiculous. |
|
Had one of the Republican Candidates called Obama a "fairy tale" and his campaign a "false hope" they would have been run out of town. There would be a line of people ready to crucify him. Hillary and Bill are getting a free pass because they are Democrats, and that, my friend, is hypocrisy. It is also evil, sick and unjust. Obama has worked hard to make his race a non-issue and not the center of his campaign. He's tried to transcend race, but Bill and Hillary clearly did not mind taking the cheapest shots in the book. They know Obama cannot respond because if he does he will begin turning off White America. He will turn himself into a "race candidate" like Al Sharpton in their eyes.
Seriously, I do not see how anyone can justify this action. I do not even think a Republican would be this low, and I can only hope that Bill as "the first Black President" title is being recalled. I can only hope that the black community crucifies Hillary, and you can bet after their actions in NH that if she wins the General Election... There is going to be low voter turn out in the black community for them.
So far only Keith has really called her on it.

10. He didn't call the Obama campaign a fairy tale |
|
he called the notion Obama had behaved consistantly on the war a fairy tale. Incidently he is correct. As for the Johnson comment, Johnson did play a huge role in the passage of that legislation. No Johnson, no legislation. Clealry no King, no legislation but also no Johnson, no legislation.

13. Ah, okay - I take that part back. |
|
It was phrased badly, but I'll take the fairy tale comment back. That still does not explain Hillary talking about "false hope" over and over. All I saw in regard to the fairy tale comment was Bill Clinton saying it, without the context.
AS for the MLK reference - I still think it was a subtle hint of racism there. I mean - we have to take this stuff seriously. If Hillary wins it could come back to bite her in the general election, and what makes things worse is that Obama can't directly challenge it. If he does he risks becoming a "race candidate."

That would clarify things (for you).

4. Didn't you write in another thread a completely fictitious account of DADT? |
|
Until you acknowledge your factual errors there, you shouldn't really be piling on even more baseless accusations.

5. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson need to stay out of this. Far, far out. |
|
Seriously. Those two do way more damage than good.
They need to follow Farrakhan's example on this one, and keep quiet.

7. This kind of ignorant race baiting is a disgrace. |
|
Your post is a series of hysterical intentional mis-characterizations.
Your clear goal is to rend the Democratic Party.
Your motives for desiring that are known only to you.

11. My Motives: For Hillary and Bill to apologize. |
|
There are no mischaracterizations in my post. Hillary Clinton accused Obama and his campaign for giving people "false hope" - false hope in what, exactly? She never said, but as a white voter I got the message loud and clear. Barack Obama can't win. He's offering lots of promises he can't keep - because he can't make it to the White House. Bill Clinton called him and his campaign a "fairy tale". What does that mean, exactly? Explain it if I am wrong. Hillary brought up MLK and basically said that it took a President to actually accomplish his dream. Seriously, WTF does that mean if I am not understanding it right?
I am NOT the only one who thinks this way. Obama, his campaign, those who support his campaign, and black America deserves an apology.

By your logic any criticism of Joe Lieberman is anti-semitic and any criticism of Joe makes you no better than the NAZIS who sent six million Jews to their death...
