Edwards with Blitzer: Perfect |
|
I don't say this often; I could not see, nor did I hear, anything that I could have improved upon.
P.S. Believe it or not, that does bother me a little; Time for a reality check.

4. He appears to be operating in somekind of "flow" state of consciousness. |
|
That's what it used to be called anyway. It's a state of being in which everything is in synch.
Really, I'm going to go and review everyone's websites. I'm pretty sure of where I'm at, but I'm known for double-checking for a reason, especially when I think something is good.

8. This is what he's good at |
|
He's good at criticizing corproate America, being dogged and angry. The man has a fighting spirit. He may be at the point where he doesn't give a damn anymore - that's often when people are at their best - when the political calculation and the lying and the groveling stop. It's also the point where it is more difficult to win - one of politics' classic conundrums.

11. It's very good that he can be cool and angry about economic injustice at the same time. |
|
That's uncommon and it's way more powerful.
Hillary get's bitter when she's angry, so she keeps her anger down to hide her bite.
I'm honestly beginning to wonder if there's any there there in Obama. Yes, he can deliver a good sermon, but I don't think he's ***personally*** involved beyond his own ambitions. I really wonder if, under other circumstances, he couldn't give a shit.

25. See that's the thing about other candidates who are all about "Can't we just get along". |
|
If you're not honest about the anger in the first place and therefore don't learn to manage it constructively, it distorts what you will and won't do. Some things you'll do to divert the process from the scarey un-manageable anger and other things you won't do in order to avoid the scarey un-manageable anger.

3. Perfection comes from sincerity, skill and hard work |
|
If you're spinning talking points on positions that someone has written for you, its hard not to mess up or sound scripted.
Edwards is able to speak off the cuff or extemperaneously about any topic, any facet of his policies without flubbing or sounding scripted. That's because he's spent a lot of time developing them, really believes in them and has worked hard on not letting interviewers throw him off base by making idiotic statements and accusations.
Edwards is even better than Big Dog. Big Dog's only flaw in this area was getting into the minutae of his policy. Edwards has learned to keep policy discussions substantive and simple at the same time. Brilliant.

|
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 12:31 PM by Triana
...great skills. Edwards has honed them sharply. Those skills, when used competently and for good causes, are invaluable.
When used incompetently by a narcissistic, arrogant, despotic goon like bu$h, they are utterly destructive.
Want change? Vote Edwards.
Anyone else is just a distraction.

6. I've always respected Bill's intelligence. |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 12:42 PM by patrice
I taught Advance Placement Psychology for 4 years, to classrooms of kids, some of them taking full boat AP schedules (including things like Physics, Calculus, and Chemistry), so I dig truly "smart". I know all of the varities of personalities that can be associated with "gifted" and Bill appeals in that quarter, but you can feel things going on when he speaks that are not out in the open.
Edwards's intelligence and instincts are all up front - or - so well hidden that you don't know it's there, which is a trait that would suit a negotiator quite well.
Like I said, time for that reality check . . . back later.

9. I think Elizabeth Edwards deserves a lot of the credit for this |
|
I believe that they talk with each other a lot about policy and strategic issues, and that when she expresses a disagreement or new point, he rethinks things and makes revisions where warranted.
They are a great team.

17. Edwards Handles Him So Very Well... However, I Have ONE Problem |
|
with the interview!! Tell me WHY Wolfie felt "compelled" to comment on how much money Edwards is spending in SC as opposed to Clinton or Obama?
Has anyone ever heard him ask this OF Clinton or Obama when THEY outspent Edwards by MILLIONS & MILLIONS in Iowa???
If he did, I take back what I said, but I didn't hear it myself!

irritating was his inflection that Edwards was "desperate" or something to be spending MORE than the others! Basically pointing out that Edwards NEEDED the win, and the other candidates aren't spending much because THEY feel he's THE LOSER!!!
