Republicans LAUGHING THEIR ASS OFF RIGHT NOW |
|
As long as the idiot Democrats are talking about Race, Gender, and Drug Use of 20 yrs ago. They aren't talking about George Bush, the Economy, and the Iraq war.
But keep on doing it.
Instead of celebrating have a real chance to have a Woman President or Black President. We're tearing each other down. Keep it up. The Repukes couldn't ask for anything better.
Both sides should be real proud of themselves. I know the Republicans are.

by the campaign tactics. I will listlessly vote for our nom, and if it's Obama or Clinton, carry the shadow of their behavior with me throughout their terms. I've lost respect for both.
It's embarrassing to witness what's going on.

Many of us live in a very DU-centric world. Really, not all that many people really give a shit what we have to say. The people supposedly laughing at us are the same Republicans going on teevee and spreading the hate to see where it sticks, because their own candidates are shit. And one little bit of reality to chew on...whatever the Republicans are saying about our candidates, our candidates will make HISTORY one way or another. What do they have? Another field of wealthy old white fuckers hell bent of tax cuts and war. SURPRISE! I mean...what do they have to talk about? We're far more interesting.

They started out pretty well, not tearing each other down too badly, but as the contest heats up and they all become more desperate, those high-minded beginnings seem to have given way to ends-justify-the-means competition. Of course I have no doubt they'll all support the nominee once it's over, but right at the moment it's painful to watch. And I won't even mention the supporters of each camp; I don't hold the candidates responsible for the behavior of their supporters. I'll be glad when we have our nominee, whoever it is, and can get down to real business.

12. Right, cuz we NEVER mention W, the economy or the Iraq occupation here on DU. |
|
Seriously...those issues are pretty much ALL we've talked about on DU for the past 5-7 years. I understand and respect your sentiment, but it's not realistic. First of all, those stories about race, gender and drugs are being specifically fed to the masses by the GOP media expressly for the purpose of dividing us. Are they laughing at us? Maybe. But so the eff what? Look at who THEY are, and laugh right back in their faces...they're about to choose from one of the sorriest-ass field of Republican candidates ever assembled.
Secondly, getting back to what WE are discussing -- it's not surprising. We've discussed, debated and fought over the serious issues for all these years, and it's all lead up to this, this final election where W is finally ousted. This was what it was for (at least since Nancy gave W a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card). So of course we're now shifting from discussing those issues to discussing which candidate is most likely to DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM.
Of course people are going to be on edge, because we're all exhausted from seven years of this hell and we don't want to see it continue. Some feel Candidate X will end it all, some feel Candidate Y will continue it all, some feel Candidate Z is being ignored, and so they're going to fight to get their guy/girl elected.
If the Republicans are actually PROUD of themselves, well...sucks to be them. How can one be PROUD to be a member of the most hated, worthless, war-mongering party of hate in modern history?
Eyes on the prize.

in nominating their strongest candidate, Joe Biden. They knew they were safe if Clinton or Obama got the nomination. I think they're feeling pretty safe at the moment because this crap was bound to happen with these two. It wouldn't have with Joe Biden. I hope you guys are happy. And I'm sure the Republicans appreciate another 4 years in the White House.

31. Do you recall NONE of the anti-Biden discussion back when he was selling us out? |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 03:42 PM by Atman
Come on?! Here on DU he was hated...until he announced he was running, then suddenly, for some reason, he was "most able to beat the Republicans." Huh? Someone who can beat the Republicans at WHAT, talking? Biden is a masterful speaker. He says all the right things then votes with establishment. You seem to forget the entire "CHANGE" component the American people want this election cycle. Biden is to "change" as Britney is to "chastity."

Biden wouldn't have stooped to these kinds of tactics. He understands the importance of unity. He certainly wouldn't have given the Republicans anything to throw back at him...at least nothing that would stick.
Very sad.

40. Why, then, did he leave? |
|
Why didn't he, as well as Dodd and Richardson stay until Feb. 5th, at least?
All of them provided calming voices during the debate. Edwards, who could have risen above them chose to viciously attack Clinton, losing the chance of becoming the alternative to both.
(Yes, many said that with so many voters still not sure about a black or a woman he offered the alternative. Not PC, but reality. But not any more).

34. How much of this traces back to the Politico? |
|
Politico was the original place some of these distortions come from. And the Politico moves the tension along by looking for supporters on either side who will say something to increase the tension.
The Politico serves the vast right wing conspiracy sometimes. Perhaps this is all a plot from the right wing run through the Politico.

The repukes are in chaos right now. They have the graduating class of the Clown College for candidates and that's why all they do is talk about the Dem slate. Listen to Limbaugh or Hannity. Hannity would endorse Satan if he had an 'R' behind his name. They got nothin' and they know it. Clinton's gender is meaningless. She's a hawk and a bitch for the corporate state. Obama is from Illinois, a place not reputed for clean honest politics. Once again, we are being chumped by the two party system. Vote for who we tell you vote for bitches.
