Something's not right with Edwards numbers. |
|
No evidence, just a gut feeling, that something has been fudged to help the others. One reason, is that when polled, on the DU, the majority here are for Edwards. Now I know that it's not conclusive, and that there are other measures to explore, but the back in 04, we were all(meaning most) set for Kerry, and well, look at the discrepancies with the exit polls. Don't flame this as a sore loser thing....it's just fishy to me. I smell a "the math" rat!

If he didnt get above 15%, his votes were canned and they were reallocated. Statewide, he's polling ~5% because he couldnt poll above 15% in most places.
Simple, and true. Hey, it happened to Clinton in Iowa

3. His entrance polls were at 10% |
|
Looks to me like half the Edward's supporters decided it was better to flock to Obama in an effort to block Clinton.
Doesn't seem out of bounds behaviour for a caucus.

6. MJ, in our precinct they managed to get enough for 1 delegate |
|
Kucinich had 5 people show up and 4 of them went to Edwards to keep him viable and one went to Obama.

12. Seems weird to me too. |

Even the more conservative polls had him higher than that. Until just recently there was a poll that I think gave him 6%, I think.

17. that gut feeling is just disappointment |
|
I'm an Edwards supporter and I'm surprised and disappointed by the results, but the numbers aren't fudged. They just are what they are.
Maybe it was the Clinton/Obama media-fueled feud that likely made Edwards supports choose one of them to block the other. Maybe it was the caucus system that may have resulted in peer pressure to support either Clinton or Obama to block the other. Maybe it was that as many people don't respond to Edwards as you and I would hope and expect.
Either way, it is sad.
