My vote is currently going to Edwards; however, I will switch my vote to Clinton or Obama if... |
|
Either one of them takes a LEADERSHIP role against the stimulus package.
By leadership role, I mean that they have to come out against it immediately and actively work to change votes in the Senate.
The stimulus package is at best a band-aid on a gaping wound and at worst a way to prolong the inevitable and make the inevitable worse.
So there you go, Hilary and Barack. If you want my vote on Super Tuesday, that's what you have to do.

1. I agree with you on the stimulus package. |
|
As you know, neither will take the leadership role to work against it... and I cannot blame either one for that because it would be such a bad political move at such a crucial time.

4. If this rebate is against NEXT year's tax bill, |
|
what everybody will see is a big 'jump' in their taxes immediately after a Dem becomes president (assuming we win).
Great timing.

5. I'm astonished at a) the lack of responses, and b) |
|
the fact the responses from Clinton and Obama supporters admit to political expediency trumping our national interest.

I really am not looking to get into any wars here, but it seems to me that many supporters from both camps do indeed want to win at any cost (including integrity), as there is such desperation to get a Dem in the White House. I understand the desperation, I just can't get on board with the win-at-any-cost thing. Of course, the line in the sand will be different from person to person...one can't be a saint AND be in politics.

It won't change my vote either way, but the package is bullshit and only helps the upper income. I am so sick of half the country constantly suffering the most from this economic nightmare and never getting any of the help. They'll take our FICA money "on loan", give it away to the rich in tax cuts, and then tell us they don't owe us anything for what they borrowed. And then have the audacity to say it's mind boggling that we should want a rebate of our FICA taxes that they continue to borrow.
And no help for the unemployed or increase in food stamps??
It'd be nice if somebody stood up to this shit, but I'm not holding my breath.

8. They all have their own proposed stimulus packages |
|
which differ quite a bit from the one being spit out of Washington right now.
