My prediction: Kucinich voters will not all vote in one block |
|
Geez, what is it with these Kucinich voters threads? Like Kucinich voters are all one big clump that will act together.
I imagine some will end up voting for Clinton, some for Obama and some for Edwards....and some will choose to sit the primaries out and then vote or not vote for the Democratic nominee whoever he or she may be.
I am a Hillary supporter but I'm also a Kucinich supporter and I find some of these 'Kucinich voters will go here' or 'Kucinich voters come over here with us' threads a bit distasteful. Has he even officially announced he's out yet? Can you guys wait at least a few moments for the Kucinich supporters to catch their breaths before trying to solicit them?
Me, I'm very sad to hear Dennis is leaving the race, although it seems they've been acting like he's not even in it for a while now, with him being left out of debates and the like. The race will be poorer without his voice. This is a sad day. :(

Anyone who thinks Kucinich supporters indulge in cult behavior is a fool.

That's how we got here in the first place.
I'm sorry I won't be able to vote for the man. :patriot:

You're all acting like this is some surprise somehow, or as if he still had some smidgen of chance or hope or something. We're talking about a candidate here who barely ever made it above 1% and was dead in the water almost from the get go. Why are you and some others acting dramatically as if this just sucked the wind out of you somehow as if he had been competitive or something? I just don't get it.
Either way I was being lighthearted and am a bit in awe at the lack of humor some are portraying. It just makes no sense.

I won't be able to log a vote on February 5 for a candidate that I actually support and believe in as a human being.
But, you aren't funny. Not in the, don't joke about serious shit, sense, but in the, not funny the way Ernest P. Worrell movies were not funny.
But what is funny is how convinced you are that you are funny, just like the boss on The Office.

We're just speculating. How is that insulting?
I guess you like Hillary, but I'd be willing to bet she gets the least of Kucinich's supporters. Probably Edwards gets most, then Obama. There, I did it. Was that so bad?

Did I think he was going to win the nomination? No, honestly, I didn't. I didn't think he was going to the last time either but he stayed in.
Maybe I'm just stupid, because someone upstream suggested this should surprise no one, but his dropping out now surprised me.
I don't understand how people cannot understand that this would be a blow for some people, even if they knew in their heart of hearts that there was little to no chance of him winning. Supporters could still work for him. They could still try to help his voice be heard. And now that's gone. Why is it that only those who support the supposedly 'viable' candidates should be upset at setbacks?
This whole primary season is just one shitty thing after another. Dennis was one of the good things about it....Now, surprisingly to stupid little me at least, he's out of it. However silly it makes me seem to some here, that really hurts and some people just seem so insensitive to what it means to supporters of Dennis. But I guess if I'm looking for sensitivity, this would be one of the last places I should come. :(

I was going to vote for him in the primary. I don't blame you for being upset. But if Obama were fired into space tomorrow morning, the Edwards people and the Clinton people would be fighting over his votes before noon. This is election season, and it ain't pretty.

It's been an emotional day for me....Friend of mine has a sister whose day old newborn is having surgery tomorrow. They give him a 75% chance of making it through....Logging on at the end of this crazy day to find Dennis has dropped out wasn't what I was expecting. It's kind of knocked me down a bit.
Thanks for the reasoned conversation.

35. I was surprised that he dropped out too... |
|
...and from what I've read, it came down to that most banal and vulgar of details: lack of money. He has to put his focus on hanging onto his congressional seat, and he couldn't do that and keep running for president at the same time. In which case I will wish him well, because he can continue to work and speak out and have a positive effect. I too was looking forward to voting for him in the primaries, so I'm sad tonight, but so it goes. The best, most qualified person doesn't always get the job.

15. This Kucinich voter is taking a break |
|
..America does not want democracy. It does not want freedom. It does not want the rule of law. It does not want free and fair elections, the right to choose, or habeus corpus. If it did, it would do something about it. Or at least support the few that try to hand it to them.
America, including the alleged 'Left', wants sweet-flavored bullshit. It wants finely polished turds like HRC and BHO.
And America will get what it wants and deserves. Enjoy the fruits of your victory, until you choke on them. You'll deserve that, too.
I have refused to emigrate for years, because I wanted to help save my country. After 7+ years, I have come to realize that my fellow citizens, in the main, don't want saving. So fuck 'em. And America, too. The founders would puke if they saw what a bunch of whiny little wussies they spawned. I will do so on their behalf, while starting the paperwork. Enjoy yourselves as you swirl around the drain.

16. Damn straight. I'd finally decided to vote Kucinich in the primary just this month. |
|
I knew he wasn't going to be the nominee; I'm not an ostrich, but I'm a believer that in a primary, you vote your conscience, your issues, your beliefs. Kucinich was my man for all that. Beyond that, I was and still am committed to support whomever receives our party's nomination.
Now, of course, I'm not committed to anyone for the primary; neither am I up for solicitation, persuasion, or proselytizing; I'll make up my own mind in my own time. Even if my own time is when I walk into the voting booth on Feb. 5th.
