Roe v Wade, well that went out the window when the Dems rolled over for both Roberts and Alito(but hey, their powder is still dry)
Troops coming home, nice thought, but a real shame that neither Hillary nor Obama can make the promise to bring them home within their first term, and both are saying they will leave troops in to guard US installations, train Iraqi troops, and go on combat missions against "terrorists."
Not invading other countries? Kyle/Lieberman.
Uphold Constitution? Nice thought, shame that the Dems, including our candidates have done next to nothing to help that process along.
Helping our economy? Either one of them pushing for a repeal to NAFTA, globalization and other such measures that have stripped our economy of well paying manufacturing jobs? Either one of them pushing to restore Glas Steagal, which was gutted under Bill?
Allies? Continuing to occupy Iraq and meddling in the Mideast, as both have stated they'll do, isn't likely to win over allies. Neither will continued saber rattling at Iran.
Stopping the operations at Guantanamo Bay? Nice platitude that they have there, but they're really short on substance. Other than saying that they want to close it, neither of them have a plan in place to do so.
Support of gays? It should be obvious that with Hillary's support of the DOMA, and Obama's pandering to the anti-gay crowd, this issue is going to take a waaaaaay back seat, and won't be brought up again until the next election cycle.
Neither of these two candidates, despite their protestations to the contrary, is a force for change. Rather they are a force for continued ongoing servicing of their corporate clients' needs and wishes. If you want real change in this country, you're not going to find it here.
