Seems this discussion forum is completely overwhelmed with pro-Obama, anti-Clinton topics and sentiment. Well, I will do my best to bring an ounce of balance to this forum by going against the pro-Obama wave. That's right, I am one of the MILLIONS of intelligent men and women across the USA who do not support Barack Obama and will battle with Hillary Clinton to the very end. I know I will be inundated with hate mail and abuse from the more obsessed of his supporters but, like Hillary Clinton, I am not afraid to speak out. I wil not be silenced. I confront injustice and hypocrisy where I see it, and right now it's Barack Obama and his supporters that are staring me in the face!

Do you think it's a coincidence that more DUers support Obama at the exact same moment in history that more Dems across the country support him?

He's more popular here at DU for the same reason that he's more popular 'out there' where the real votes are taking place. Typing "HILLARY CLINTON for PRESIDENT!" at a Democratic message board and challenging her opponent's supporters to ... what, a typing match? ...isn't going to slow the avalanche of Obama devotion.

At this point, a video of Obama slapping a child ... kicking a puppy ... something really awful ... that is going to win Hillary the nomination. It wasn't that way a month ago, but it is now. The love fest is in full orgy mode, and no one's pulling out prematurely just because Muzza decides to post a hit-and-run at DU.

Mmm...let's get some perspective on this. After the Wisconsin primary, ABC News listed the raw votes for each candidate across all primaries to date as:

Clinton: 10,600,000
Obama: 10,900,000

About 50/50 yeah? Forget about who won which state and all that nonsense. Just think about the "will of the people". Obama has no clear claim to victory AT ALL.

How can you claim that Obama has majority support? What about the other 49% who haven't voted for him? Who oppose him? What about those 10 Million people? Are they all crazy? Should they just "roll over" and give in. Whatever happened to democracy?

The notion that Obama fever is "sweeping the nation" is complete and utter propaganda peddled by the media. Sure, no doubt that Obama supporters are VERY LOUD!!! But that does not mean the numbers of supporters is greater in any significant way.

I can't give you "facts" on why he will win the nomination because I don't have the ability to see the future. All I can do is predict the future based on the past and current trends, which show Obama with almost all the momentum, and Hillary with practically none.

Obama has just about cleared the table against Hillary, and her only hope is to win big in Ohio and Texas. She will not. This is a prediction on my part, not a fact, but it's a pretty simple prediction to make based on the polls and the race so far.

Agreed, Hillary should not throw in the towel just yet. I'd lose what respect I still have for her if she did. But "Obama fever" is not "complete and utter propaganda peddled by the media" - it is a force which has proven and is still proving that it can beat Hillary and Bill Clinton, two of the most powerful Democratic politicians of our time.

Well of course the purpose was to get some attention - attention initiates discussion. Currently I see no logical discussion taking place between Obama supporters and Clinton supporters. The camps are polarized and in my opinion the Obama supporters have a much louder voice courtesy of the support of mainstream media. But being abused and exposed to the most vile forms of anti-Hillary smear certainly made it easy for me to strenghten my allegiance to her. When a leader (eg Obama) has that kind of impact on people - that is when some of his followers feel the need to be so hateful - I worry what that's about. And yes, I am guilty of returning some of the venom that has been thrown my way but I certainly didn't start it. But hell, that's what humans do when they are under attack. It's called self-preservation.
