1. I kind of feel the same way. |

I think the people here saying she's secretly a Republican are full of it, but you're right. It has been bad.

8. What's interesting is, at least it seems to me, the "Hillary = Republican" attacks have decreased. |
|
Those are the types of attacks against which I was defending her several months ago, and I still think they are disingenuous. But I seem to be seeing those less and less because nowadays people don't have to use vague and unfounded attacks like that against her anymore: she has provided enough glaring and obvious things which you can use to attack her now.

I am truly astounded at how clumsily and shamelessly she has run her campaign -- confirming my worst fears about her.

....Deep down, I think I knew what they were... but I wasn't able to admit it to myself.

12. I used to too! Defended Hillary in 2008 until she started with the Republican nastiness... |
|
Edited on Tue May-06-08 12:19 PM by Triana
...and I defended the Clintons all through the 90s - voted for Bill twice. More than once I raged about what Scaife had done to them. Now Hillary is all cozy with the guy and using him to destroy Obama - and she's alongside the entire Republican swiftboat attack machine and has them working on her behalf too. Against another Democrat - INSIDE the party.
What she's done and how she's run her campaign - I CANNOT - as a Democrat/Liberal/Progressive/Indy (whatever) support.
I dunno - maybe this Democratic | DLC split needs to happen. I largely think it does.

One of the things that I can't get past with McCain is what Bush/Rove did to him in South Carolina in 99 ... But, now McCain has cowered back to the little puke ...
Same kind of thing as Clinton/Scaife ...

Then Bill Shaheen opened up his big mouth. I become an undecided, but then saw the pattern of racially motivated dog whistling by the Clinton campaign and had to go to Obama.

I also used to defend Lieberman before the the 06 primary started.
I still defend some conservative Dems who are elected to districts/ states who probably wouldn't elect truly progressive dems, but Lieberman and Hillary have no excuse.

25. The HRC supporters don't want to notice those of us who lost respect for her |
|
They want to pretend that we've always been against her. They don't want to acknowledge how severely her team's use of right wing attack methods in the campaign have alienated us. I'm part of one of those demographics that's supposed to be solidly in the HRC camp. Sorry. The campaign could have been so much better without the Tanya Harding strategy.

26. I think I stopped defending her after her IWR vote. |
|
And she has never backed off from it, unlike Kerry and other dems.
For Hillary, that vote was calculated to enhance her electability. No one can change that belief of mine. Voting for an unnecessary, immoral war for that kind of reason cannot be forgiven.

super pleased. the more she showed her colors, however, i grew disgusted. i used to defend her against the right wing attacks, now i dont... probably because they now praise her and absolutely hate obama. lol.

29. Me too!! I was for Edwards but then fine with either, not anymore |
|
I always had such respect for the Clintons -- I really am not enjoying not liking them but they're bugging the crap out of me with the pandering to The Stupids! I had enough of that with GWB, and my vote is not on sale for any price, certainly not for thirty cents a day for 2 months or whatever.

yep. Back in January I figured either Hillary or Obama would be fine. The longer this thing has gone on, the more Hillary has pissed me off and the creepier her rightwing connections have started to look. This business of adopting McCain's ridiculous gas-tax pander as a weapon against Obama isn't the last straw (that was more a process of steady accrual), but it is emblematic of the kinds of beds she's willing to lie in to get herself elected. Dogs/fleas, etc.
