George Will looks like he's going to cry any moment: |
|
as a (pseudo)intellectual, he knows that the Bush II/Cheney reign has effectively destroyed the Republican Party for his working lifetime. As a Paleoconservative, he must be insanely angry, and I don't blame him.
One of the things I have been saying to patients over the last three years is, and I quote because I've said it at least 800 times, "The only thing which would upset me more as a Liberal Progressive is if I were a Conservative and had been utterly and completely betrayed by this Administration."
That gets a lot of attention from everyone except my Freeper-types who really try to go after me. They are fortunate that I am extraordinarily careful with them since I would never want to be perceived as causing pain due to differing ideologies.

1. George Will has been reading the tea leaves for a few weeks now |
|
and he knows that the conservative movement as he has known it for the last 8 years is going to die next Tuesday.

5. 8 years? more like 14 years... and i think he's happy about it |
|
it makes me laugh how DUrs sometimes think all republicans are diehard neocon theocrats.
folks like Will are honestly happy to see the culture wars coming to an end, as i see it. i've been watching these types for ages and they have been fairly proactive in their pronouncement of the collapse of the palin campaign... err, i mean the mccain campaign.

13. Exactly, there were posts last night lumping all pubs with the neocons and fundies and |
|
basically saying they were all evil scumbags. I certainly don't agree with pubs on much of anything, but I will give the main-liners some credit for publicly showing their disdain for neocons and fundies.

Who would have thunk in 2000 that our horrible loss, that travesty of...of...I DON'T KNOW WHAT!... would eventually lead to the collapse of the whole movement. what a strange world...I just wish my parents were still alive to see this...they died upset, cynical, and having nearly given up. Sad. Makes me want to cry myself.

9. I've been reading George Will since the late 1970s and he's always been a jerk. |
|
I have no sympathy for him. He was one of the loudest cheerleaders for Reagan and reagonomics, which got us in this mess in the first place. Will never hesitated to twist the truth or pretend to be confused so as to further the rightwing agenda. He's been wrong, wrong, wrong from day one. The chickens are coming home to roost and I have no sympathy for those who put is in this mess.
As a high school student in the 1970s I could tell that George Will was wrong. As a college student I could tell that Reagan was wrong. These people are idiots and it's taken this long for them to wake up and smell the coffee.

10. He and the rest of his kind only have themselves to blame. |
|
They danced around the edges with their editorials for the past couple years, yet in front of a camera, they shilled right along with the Rash Limpball wing of the party. When Bob Dole tried to intervene, he was shoved aside by the far right and the cowards in the middle snapped in line. And now Dole's wife has drunk the koolaid.
C'est la vie.

15. Ed Rollins is another old timer who said today on CNN that in his heart he sees Obama winning |
|
the election. He knows its been a bad campaign for McLame too. I think he is another Reagan Dem who is disgusted by this campaign and the what Shrub has done to the party. Its too bad that these guys won't admit that Reagan got us into this mess in the first place (supply side economics) but they will admit that Shrub has been a disaster for their party.
