The American Dream vs. The Elitist |
|
I'm finding myself getting more and more angry more and more often, and this is what is setting me off right this minute.
If some little Republican kid, raised by his young single mother and his grandparents, studied hard, worked hard, and grew up to go to college and on to law school, to give something back to the community and to make something of himself to the point that he was about to be elected President of the United States, he'd be considered the embodiment of the American Dream, a true achiever.
When Barack Obama does it, he's called a snob and an elitist.
Why is this?
It is shocking and sad that a thoughtful, intelligent, accomplished man like Barack Obama can be vilified for those very accomplishments in the same environment in which a woman like Sarah Palin, grossly under-qualified in every way for the position for which she was nominated, can be hailed as the future of her party and of this country.
It defies any reason.
