anyone going to FH 9/11 in Montgomery Friday night? |
|
Just bought four tickets for the 8:00 pm showing of Fahrenheit 9/11 at the Rave Festival Plaza on movietickets.com!
I haven't seen much in the local press about expectations for attendence (or protests) on opening night - has anyone else heard anything?

3. Belated thanks, newyawker99 |

Even though I've lurked at DU for two years, I only registered and started posting a couple of months ago. I understand the cautious approach many at DU take to newbies, but it is still sometimes intimidating to be the new screen name on the block, the one with the lowest number of posts, the one that doesn't know any other DU'ers with great familiarity.
You have welcomed me at least twice in past threads, newyawker99, and I am sorry it has taken me this long to say thanks. It really does mean a lot to the newcomer to be recognized!

7. No problem southlandshari! |

I welcome so many people that I forget all the names. It is better to welcome someone twice than to not welcome them at all.

Don't be intimidated! When you see something and you want to respond, speak up! It is true that newbies have it rough at the beginning but by posting more, people will become familiar with you and they will see what a great person you are.
I look forward to reading more of your posts in the future.

Thanks for the welcome!! I am so glad to find people who think like me! It gets awfully lonely down here in Alabama with all the right-wing morons running loose.:toast:

13. How was opening night in Mobile? |
|
There is a thread in general discussion asking for reports on audience size/tone of shows on opening night. I did a quick summary of the Montgomery opening, and am curious about the other two premeires in Alabama. Anyone willing to report on Mobile and Hoover?

5. Auburn Will Be There!!! |
|
The Auburn College Democrats will be at Fahrenheit 9/11 for the 8:00 showing in Montgomery. We will be sporting one of our new club Tshirts...they are great. It's a black shirt. On the front pocket side in white it says "Kerry 2004." On the back, there is a huge white W and underneath it just says, "Not for Long." I'll see you there!

Bravo for AU College Dems! Count four more Auburnites who are too old to join the college group but not too old to use our brain cells for clear thinking will also be making the trek for the 8:00 pm showing in Montgomery!
We'll look forward to seeing you there. And if anyone tries to mess with you guys, we've got your back!

I'm really impressed it's going to be shown at the Rave. I thought we'd have to wait several months for it to appear at the Capri like Bowling for Columbine did. I would love to be there Friday night, but our usual baby-sitter isn't available. D'oh. I'll have to catch it next week. I'm always amazed to hear of fellow progressive thinkers in this area. :D

the new one that just opened in Hoover. I haven't gone to get tickets yet, but I think it's on two screens. I'm going sometime this weekend.

12. I was just wondering if it would be shown in Alabama at all |
|
But Mobile, Montgomery, and B'ham. That's great!
And I am so happy that other Auburn alums are anti-Bush.
