Is it true that Birmingham is the most liberal city in the South? |
|
Anyone care to comment? I may have an opportunity to move there, and I'd like to know. And, yes, I do realize there are tons of RWers everywhere.
Also, any great bar-b-que places in B-ham?

1. I never thought of Birmingham as particularly liberal |
|
African-American politicians generally run the city, as Birmingham is majority black. They are fiscally liberal, but socially moderate to conservative, in my opinion. I would prefer the opposite. Fiscally moderate, and socially liberal, I mean.
As to bar-b-que, check out Full Moon, and if you can make it down to Tuscaloosa, visit the original Dreamland for the ribs. It's hard to find, but worth the search.

I would be interested to see that. I might learn something I didn't know.
By the way, nice to see someone here in the wee hours. Or for that matter, anytime at all. :)

After looking it over, I have to conclude that they called Birmingham liberal simply because it is home to a lot of black people. For them to say that Birmingham is more liberal than New York City is ridiculous. I wish it was true, but believe me, it simply is not.
