What a dead state we live in ~ I've been watching for days and no new |

posts show up. I guess there just isn't anything news worthy going on. How did the Memorial Day get together go with Tony Knowles and Max Clelland in Kenai? Anyone go to it? Our month long Spring Salmon Derby just ended and the largest king ever was turned in. 58 pounder. I know , I know, a lot bigger ones have been caught but none bigger ever turned in during this particular Derby. Halibut seem plentiful this year. I've been eating a lot of it lately. Had Celebration in Juneau over Memorial Day week-end and more than twenty clans showed up. Several thousand people. Lots of color and regalia. Dancing in the streets. That's the news from Juneau anyway.

1. It not that we don't care, just not enough of us up there I guess |

I've been able to work on company projects in Prudhoe, Tok, Gulkana, Homer, and the Lake Iliamna/Newhalen River sockeye runs, but I haven't been able to land a full time assignment in Alaska. It's such a beautiful state, but hard to get a job in.

2. I happen to be looking for help at the moment but not a high paying |
|
position. I need a warehouse assistant and a merchandiser. The warehouse assistant is for a high school kid or such. It only pays between $8.00 - $10.00. the merchandiser position is a little higher in pay especially if experienced.

I'm still here...it's just that sometimes it's the national news that overwhelms me. I live in Anchorage and I always vote Democrat, but the truth is I'm surrounded by conservatives.

The pancake breakfast with Tony Knowles and Max Clelland was a huge success! The Elks Lodge was packed, considering it was Memorial week-end, a great turnout. They both gave wonderful speeches. There were quite a few Veterans there, supporting Tony. I got a hug from Max, which made my day!
I'm hearing a lot of anti-bush remarks lately. I was pleasantly surprised that my fundie neighbors are awaking to the dangerous administration we have.
Our company starts Saturday. Wall-to-wall till the end of August! Will be busy from now on with salmon, halibut, clams and my garden. No rest for the weary.
We had fresh king salmon out of Deep Creek on Sunday. Yum!
Will be actively campaigning for Hal Smalley (another transplanted Oregonian) for House.
Still here, Judy
