He is trying to eliminate the Judicial selection committee which is stated in the constitution as the only way he can select judges. He doesn't want to follow the constitution and is in fact not following the constitution and appears to be getting away with it. Is it making news of any sorts in your town? It is being addressed through LTTE in Juneau but that is all. There have been no articles about it at all.

. . . the situation you're talking about arises under the Alaska state constitution, it's probably not all that surprising that the issue isn't getting much play outside of the state.
