AAR in Phoenix Re: Charles Goyette |
|
Is anyone else disappointed that they put him on in the mornings? He is not a liberal, not a democrat, is he a libertarian? I don't know, but I only agree with him on one thing it seems, and that is despising the Bush admin. I don't think he belongs on an Air America station just because of that.
He really pissed me off this morning when he started lying about social security, and spouting off old Republican talking points about there not being a trust fund and all . I miss Unfiltered in the mornings.... I am being forced to switch back to NPR...

2. I don't think he's actually part of AAR -- |

In NY, AAR leases time on WLIB, but the station still provides a small amount of its own programming -- for instance, we get two hours of Mike Malloy, and then a local talk show host comes on -- then AAR resumes again after his slot is finished.
If I want to catch all of an AAR show, I switch to listening through the computer once the AAR segment ends on WLIB.
So, I think Goyette is being put on actually by the station, and not AAR.

4. The day after KXXT switched to him |
|
I emailed the station and complained. I explained why Unfiltered is such a great show and how disappointed I was. They obviously weren't listening. He has a contract with them anyway, so he's not going anywhere. I do listen to him in the mornings because NPR has become such a middle-of-the-road, placate the righties disappointment. Some of his interviews are good, like this morning he interviewed Gore Vidal, but it's nothing like Unfiltered's sharp, fun political humor. BTW, KXXT plays excerpts of Unfiltered on Sundays.

5. I too prefered Unfiltered |

but Goyette is better than those apologists at NPR for the drive in. Once I'm at work I put on my earphones and stream AAR.
