Teachers across the country get treated unfairly. Education needs to be a PRIORITY for ALL regardless of class, race, or religion.

Disgusting.
And, of course, it's the fault of teachers (you know, people like me, who get paid crap and given little to help us).

5. There's a poll there on how to improve the schools... |
|
The most important quality of a good school is: Excellent teachers Administrators who care about the classroom Small classroom size Modern, clean facilities A hefty budget High scores on standardized tests Lots of computers Parental involvement
Choices not given: Pledge of Allegiance and Creationism

8. My sister is a teacher in Arizona |

She's been complaining about how the students she teaches (juniors and seniors in college) aren't very smart and that it is frustrating.
Maybe this will make her feel better --- that it's not her imagination.

hell outta here?
No fucking way Joanne will become a teacher in this pathetic anti-education anti-sane state. Bug Exterminators get treated better in this state than teachers do.

14. It is not a ranking of smartest children at all.... |
|
It is simply another poll using info gathered from faulty high stakes tests.
I am a special educator in Arizona and I know this "poll" is bullshit or rather bushshit. We have great schools and great teachers here in AZ. Yes our classrooms could use a lot more money, but the repukes in the state legislature wouldn't give us a damn cent if our lives depended on it.
The schools in the United States are in far better shape that the repukes would have you believe. Our biggest problem, here in Arizona, is the high student transient rate out here. We see a lot of student movement in and out of our schools.
I fully support our public schools and am damn proud of the job they do.

15. I too am a teacher in Arizona. |

Ummm. . .I don't know what district you're in. . .but it says alot that our state spends 4 times as much on prisons than they do on schools.
I tend to accept the findings because alot of my students don't know HOW to write. . .and I teach High school. They don't know grammar, syntax o r any rules of writing, citing or formatting.
The schools in this country are falling apart. I support our public education as well, but the jackals are holding a knife to the school's throat and have begun to cut.
