An Arizona soldier from Lake Havasu City who his mother said was "someone everybody loved" died this week while serving in Iraq.
Pfc. Patrick A. Tinnell, 25, was killed Wednesday when a car bomb detonated near his unit while they were on combat patrol, according to a Department of Defensive notice.
The fallen soldier's mother, Debbie Tinnell, of Lake Havasu City, spoke on the telephone of her son while she sat with his dog, Mary.
"Patrick loved Mary and asked me to look after her, and I am, and that's what I'm going to do from now on," Debbie Tinnell said. "Patrick loved people too, and he was so funny. People said he was like a comedian, he made them laugh so much."
