Which Dem candidates in AZ are tough on immigration issues? |
|
That's where the Republicans are going to hit our candidates hard, so I was wondering which of the Dems will be able to come back with something other than the word "amnesty".
I know Janet Napolitano wanted reinforcements for the border, so hopefully her position is safe. But what about the other Dems?

1. Republicans wanted amnesty for employers |
|
Last year's immigration package, crafted by the Repug legislative majority, shielded employers from consequences. All an employer caught hiring an undocumented person had to do was let them go in 10 days. On top of that the state would be liable for the legal fees of employers who got sued!

2. I think the message this year on that will be, plainly, that no one is |

"for" illegal immigration, and we'll really only be able to make progress on border issues next term if we get a much more common-sense legislature than the one we've been cursed with.
