Remember that name as he may be the one to take Shadegg out of our hair.
Dear Friend,
Thank you for your continued interest in our campaign. There are some really exciting things happening and I wanted to give you a quick update.
The energy around our campaign continues to draw attention from the national media. The New York Times recently published an article about our race and our strong first quarter fundraising effort. Recognition by the New York Times shows that my race against John Shadegg is being taken seriously on a national scale.
It is imperative that we keep this momentum going in the second quarter. I know that many of you have already helped by making a contribution and I want you to know that I genuinely appreciate that early support. With all that said, I am going to have to go back to my friends again. The second quarter of this campaign will truly show my strength as a candidate and I can’t do it without supporters like you. Please consider a generous contribution of $100, $250, $500, $1000 or more to my efforts! Every dollar, no matter how big or small helps!
Last week, I also called on John Shaddeg to take a stand on the latest scandals involving Rep. Rick Renzi and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales . He has not spoken publicly about whether he believes Congressman Renzi and Attorney General Gonzales should remain in office despite the legal controversies surrounding them. I believe Congressman Shadegg should let the voters of Arizona’s Third Congressional District know where he stands on these ethical scandals. His refusal to take a stand on these issues is just another example of why we need a change in leadership. Help me to continue the pressure on Congressman Shaddeg with your most generous contribution today.
Please be sure to keep checking our website for the latest campaign updates and to support our campaign. We need your support now to ensure that our success continues.
Best, Bob
P.S. Ultimately, I’ll need the help of “friends of friends” and “family of friends” to succeed in this effort. I know this is a lot to ask, but please reach out to your colleagues, family and friends in order to expand my circle of support. If you would forward this important email alert to any individual who values change and wants to make a difference, I’d be truly grateful.
to make a positive change in our community and country.

lonestarnot,
Thanks for your post. Although some of my views are undoubtedly more "centrist" than those of many (but not all, it's a diverse group) bloggers, I respect and admire the blogging community and very much would value its support. I appreciate you recognizing the effort we've made against a tough, but beatable, Republican incumbent.
Sincerely,
Bob Lord

Thanks for your response and welcome to DU! :toast: What is the address to your website? And oh, I'm probably the most left DUer here, but I won't hold "centrist" against you, just as long as you aren't into war and slave labor.

6. You may be more of an activist but.... |
|
You may not be the most leftist. I'm fairly quiet about about a lot of subjects around here.
I'm not in the district in question ( we finally got a Dem in my district, Go Gabby!) but I will support any Democratic candidate against Shaddeg.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. We're having huge successes fundraising, probably more because of the way folks feel about my opponent than anything else. In the first quarter, we raised $138,000 in just 38 days. We're not only doing well in terms of dollars, but also in terms of the number of contributors, which means a lot to me. It says we have a broad base of support. We're now closing in on 300 contributors. It would be a huge boost for the campaign to be at 500 or more by the end of the quarter. I'd greatly appreciate any help in getting there.

12. You All Are Fantastic!!!! |

lonestarnot,
I'm overjoyed that 334 people have read your post. If they all share your view (and mine, of course), we can beat John Shadegg once and for all.
I'm hoping I can get your help -- and I'll need it to prevail in this race.
Contributions at this point in the campaign are critical. If I do well this quarter fundraising, a lot of things (all good) will happen. And 334 people contributing at even small amounts have the power to make that happen. I'll keep working at this as hard as I have, but it would be HUGE if I had help from the blogosphere.
So, if you want to take out John Shadegg, go to my website, follow the links for donations, and do whatever you can. I'll greatly appreciate the help and, together, we'll win this thing!!!
Thanks for all you do.
Bob

Thank you so much. We'll be making every possible effort to keep our fundraising momentum going. The help we're getting from you and others like you is huge. If we sustain this pace, we'll raise enough money for me to get my message out and, if I get my message out, we'll win this race!!
All the best,
Bob
