HS student schools candidate for AZ Supt. of Public Instruction

This is a video of a HS student interviewing State Senator and Republican candidate for SPI, John Huppenthal. The student asks about cuts to CTE (vocational & technical training) funding after Huppenthal says how important those programs are. The kid is really good – he got Huppenthal to say the programs would survive even though his vote cut their funding from $2 million to $57,000. Even Hup recognized the disconnect! Squirm baby squirm! Watch until the end…seriously.

Watching this student interview, I felt hope for education in Arizona.

This shows why AZ schools are so bad, and yet we managed to produce a great future journalist out of our shitty school system.

This video is viral on FB amongst my teacher, journalist and Dem friends, so maybe it will actually make a difference come election time.
