Four friends and I will be making the trip. Should be a
HOOT!
Now, to avoid any off-topic sub-threads, and to keep things in perspective, I want to make something clear:
NONE of us are going because of some political agenda, or to make some political statement, or to accomplish any political goal. We've all been there/done that. (My last D.C. rally was early '03, on the eve of the Iraq invasion.) Rallies like that you attend out of moral imperative and righteous indignation.
No, our only expectation, and our only raison d'etre for attending, is simply
TO BE ENTERTAINED! Stewart and Colbert are
comedians, in case anyone's forgotten. This should be more rock concert than political rally (hopefully).
True, it's always a pleasant experience to mingle with thousands upon thousands of like-minded folk. In this case, folk who:
A. are reasonably intelligent.
B. are reasonably sane.
C. can define and appreciate higher comedic forms like "self-deprecation" and "satire". And
D. can spell.
So....anyone else comin'?......
