TEMPE, Ariz. -- Maricopa County court records obtained by CBS 5News reveal the two men accused of robbing and killing ASU student Zachary Marco had both served time for crimes related to a previous robbery and were on probation when Marco was killed.

Marion Patterson, 17 and his uncle, Louis Harper, 20, are charged with first-degree murder in connection with the robbery and shooting death of Marco on Oct. 17.

According to court records, Patterson was convicted last year for robbing a high school student at a Tempe bus stop at gunpoint for his shoes and cell phone.
