Mesa Minister Indicted In Real Estate Scheme

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Federal agents arrested a Mesa minister, his wife and 10 others for bilking millions out of banks and other lending institutions.

Clint Rogers and his wife, Angela, run a large, international Christian ministry based in Tempe.

The Clint Rogers Ministries website is full of pictures and videos from international crusades and healing services. The website said it is affiliated with the Living Word Bible Church in Mesa, which is known for promoting the so-called prosperity gospel.

Yet the U.S. Attorney's office says from 2006 to 2007, the Rogers were up to no good, stealing from banks and other lending institutions. The federal indictment charges them with 13 counts of conspiracy, money laundering and wire fraud, to the tune of $2.5 million.
