| Repub Congressman Womack Slammed by Dem Opponent |
|
Steve Womack Refused to Help Constituent with missing son... a soldier missing since May 8, 2011 in Utah.
RUSSELLVILLE—Ken Aden, Democratic Candidate for Congress from Arkansas’ Third Congressional District, on Tuesday decried Congressman Steve Womack’s attitude toward a missing Northwest Arkansas soldier. In an article published over the weekend by the Russellville Courier-News, Womack (R-Rogers) made light of the plight of the family Army Specialist Joseph Bushling, who has been missing from his Utah military base since May 8. Womack made the remarks in response to the Bushling family’s claims that they had received little assistance from the Congressman’s office. Womack rhetorically questioned what else he could do in the case, noting, “What more can I do besides going to Tooele County and doing a foot patrol myself?” “Steve Womack’s inexcusable attitude toward his responsibility to seek the truth regarding the disposition of a missing soldier is disgusting,” said Aden, a former Army Staff Sergeant who experienced combat in Iraq. “Womack’s ability to constantly shirk his obligation to his constituents and then make light of a dire situation like this should personally offend every single person in the 3rd Congressional District,” Aden continued. “Perhaps the family of US Army Specialist Joseph Bushling just didn’t contribute enough to Womack’s campaign to buy much of his influence on their behalf. I suppose we should expect this kind of behavior from a Congressman who is bought and paid for by big business,” Aden said. “He’s more concerned about the agenda of corporate fat cats and the job-killing free trade agreements they support to boost their profits than his own constituents,” he continued. “It is no wonder hard working folks like the Bushling’s who just want to know what happened to their beloved son before they spend their first Thanksgiving without him can’t get more than a few snide remarks from their Congressman,” Aden concluded.

| 1. I haven't heard about this case. Everyday in everyway Womack is burning his own toast. |

How embarrassing that he comes from Ark. We've got to find the old Dale Bumpers', the David Pryors', McClellans. Bring reason back to the forefront.

Here is the link to the blog that broke the story. More is coming out about this in the next few days. It is just disgusting how Mr. Bushling was treated. < http://bluearkansasblog.com/?p=7118>
