This isn't exactly political, and yet it is. I wanted you to know about Future Visions Foundation in Harrison AR. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to integrative medicine and the education of the public and health care professionals.
What is integrative medicine? It's using diet, herbs, vitamins, energy work, homeopathy, and regular medicine to get people well and, more importantly, to keep people well. The group is hoping to lobby congress and the state legislature about the importance of wellness in the concept of health care.
What is neat is that the organization gives out grants to uninsured and underinsured patients who couldn't otherwise afford to get lab tests. Lab tests are the first part of many treatments, as they often determine what is needed or what is wrong with a person. For example, they can indicate if you aren't absorbing certain nutrients (which is sometimes a factor in autism), or if you have a parasite, or a virus.
If you'd like to find out more about this organization, check out their website.
