Asking for help from all Arkansans

Our little local peace group- Citizens for Political Reform- had one of our own go to DC for the march. She's staying on in town to lobby Congress and is apparently the only Arkansan there who is going to do it! I'm passing on what she said in an email and asking all of you to email or phone our Senators and your Congressman (we're from Newton County, so ours is Boozman, the one mentioned) as per her request--



There are 280 scheduled visits to members of congress, some states having as many as 45 delegates, but E---- is it for Arkansas. Bless her, she will have to face those sharks all by herself.

She asks that we all e-mail, fax, or phone Boozman to request that he co-sponser a bill called "Homeward Bound" (HJ 55) that would begin a phased withdrawal from Iraq to begin Oct 1, 2006. This is a year away but at this time it's the only bill being put forward at this time.

Also contact Senators Lincoln and Pryor and ask them to support Resolution 171, which would require the Bush administration to prepare an Iraq withdrawal plan, and report this to the Senate within 30 days.

til Tuesday to get back. I have a personal invitation to have coffee with Boozman when he's back in town. I've nagged him so much that he actually wants to meet me!

Wish your friend could have answered my request for a travel companion to DC and we could have teamed up.
