Heard this about Huckabee? |

While doing a bit of research on faith-based funding this morning, I came across news that Gov. Mike Huckabee will be speaking on the first day of the annual conference on "Reclaiming America for Christ." (A group born from Dr. Jame Kennedy's Coral Ridge Ministries in Fort Lauderdale.) The conference is scheduled for March 17-18.
For those of you not familiar with this group, I'm going to attempt to explain why these are the worst of the worst. The group says there is NO separation of church and state provided in the Constitution. They believe all political issues are matters of religious belief and that America was founded as a Christian nation and must return to that or suffer the wrath of God and our enemies. They work to have history textbooks re-written, make sodomy a capital offense, abortion illegal and bring the hell-fires of their imaginations to rest here on earth.
Other speakers at their conference have included John Ashcroft, Dan Quayle, Dick Armey and Katherine Harris. They chose to have presidential hopeful Gary Bauer speak to them, obviously feeling that GW Bush was too secular for their tastes. In 1999, a speaker at their conference said Hitler's Germany failed because it separated church and state. The speaker went on to say that American abortion "makes Hitler look like a humanitarian by comparison."
