Received reply from Sen. Pryor on Feingold's Censure Resolution. |

Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 10:36 AM by sinkingfeeling
Said, "I do not support censure." Then a bunch of stuff about not being on the Senate Judiciary Committee and thinking the committee should be the ones to take action. Here's my reply:
Dear Senator Pryor,
I received your reply yesterday on my request that you support Senator Russ Feingold's Resolution to Censure George W. Bush.
So, you believe the President of the United States does not have to obey the laws written by the Congress nor recognize the Bill of Rights in the Constitution he took an oath to uphold.
Could you explain how your position fits into that quaint concept of democracy versus a dictatorship?
Sincerely,

1. Pryor is a sorry excuse - a lightweight --- |
|
His last name is the ONLY reason he was ever elected IMHO.

other members of the House or Senate about things that concern you? I have. I've sent emails to both Senator Lincoln and Congressman Boozman expressing concerns about upcoming votes and about votes and positions they had undertaken. Senator Pryor is the only one of the 3 to even acknowledge that he recieved anything from me. Don't misunderstand, I believe Senator David Pryor is one of the best representatives we have ever had in Washingon, but I do believe that Senator Mark Pryor is cut from the same cloth. Keep in mind we could be represented by that paragon of virtue, Tim Hutchinson.

No excuse at all.
Bush broke the law and is arguing that he can continue to do so whenever he sees fit. Torture, NSA, Iran... it doesn't matter what congress says... it doesn't matter what the law says... he does what he wants. That is a dictatorship. That is what every senator Republican or Democrat should stand up against.

4. I get replies all the time from both Sen. Lincoln and Boozman. If fact, |
|
I got a personal, hand-written, 6 page letter from Boozman and an invitation to visit him in Washington. Rep. Boozman wastes more tax-payer dollars responding to letters he doesn't agree with than anyone! I have probably 200 responses from him and he calls me by my first name. I'm very disappointed in Mark Pryor's performance to date.

8. I think Mark is a chip off the old block |
|
I don't think Mark Pryor is much different than David. Both personalities tend toward conciliation and compromise, which of themselves are not negative things.
What David had going for him was that his fellow Senator from Arkansas was Dale Bumpers, a true leader. Bumpers allowed David Pryor to give free rein to his more liberal impulses because old Dale could take the heat.
Mark has no such luxury (or colleague) and of course has apparently blinded himself to the consequences of compromise and conciliation with those that would destroy our democratic institutions.

Doesn't support censure either. BUT...she voted to censure Clinton for lying about a sexual dalliance. We need some REAL Democrat Senators...not these DINOs!
