Huckabee criticized for concentration camp joke on radio show

Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee's comments jokingly crediting his 100-plus pound weight loss to a "concentration camp" drew criticism from a Jewish Democratic advocacy group this week.

Huckabee, who is considering a 2008 presidential bid, made the comment Wednesday to radio show host Don Imus when Imus told him he looked "emaciated." Huckabee on Friday denied the comment was a reference to the Holocaust or a slight against Jews.

"I have just come out of six weeks at a concentration camp held by the Democrat Party of Arkansas in an undisclosed location, making a hostage tape," Huckabee said during Wednesday's show. "That's why I look that way."

But,I'm not worried about Huck being nominated. Surely not! But, then again, I've thought those same two words so many times over the past several years, and then the "surely not" IS! Maybe I should just stop thinking...
