Two shot dead in Santa Cruz living room
SANTA CRUZ -- Two young men were gunned down while they hung out with friends in a lower Ocean Street apartment early today, police reported.

The deaths mark the city's second and third homicides this year.

No arrests have been made

"We're still kind of piecing it together," Santa Cruz police Capt. Steve Clark said.

Damn. My condolences to the victims' families.

It's January 23, and already three homicides? That's not good.

"... kind of piecing it together,, ... interviews"?! WTF - Capt.Clark makes it sound like they are planning a vacation. Don't police usually INVESTIGATE murders - especially those involving firearms?

The earlier incident mentioned from three weeks ago was the settling of a lover's grievance.

Guns are popular for avenging hurt feelings.
