Protest opportunity:

West Hills Community College in Coalinga will host Karl Rove, former advisor to President George Bush, as he addresses students on America 's challenges and important decisions facing the nation.

Rove, a Fox News contributor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal and Newsweek, will be presenting at Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. Tickets to the event are $30 in advance at the college's student services building or through protix.com with a $3 handling fee. Tickets the day of the event will be $40 if they are available.

Rove served as senior advisor to the former president from 2000 to 2007 for which he became known as "The Architect." He also served as deputy chief of staff from 2004 to 2007.
