Why?
Because CO may cast the vote that keeps the Republicans as the majority party (again!!) or vote in the Democrats as the majority party who control the U.S. Senate. This is so damn important this year.
Why?
Because the U.S. Senate is the political body that "okays" all federal judicial nominees made by a sitting U.S. president. In other words, the Senate "approves" or "disapproves" the judges and justices of the entire federal court system. And this is important for this next four years.
Why?
Because the entire U.S. Supreme Court depends upon it. This is the deciding presidential term (4 years), DUers, when one or more USSupCt justices will retire or may die. The voting pattern of the USSupCt has been so close in important cases, for example, 5-4 or 6-3. It's that simple.
Case law as handed down by the USSupCt sets law across this country that typically stands for 40, 50, 60 years or more. Add that to the length of time that a justice(s) remains on the bench because this is a life-time appointment!
Additionally, George Walker Bush is packing the rest of the U.S. federal court system with rightwing ideologues who are pushing their own personal views into law across America.
Do you want "rightwing" as law for that many years?
This is the rightwing agenda: to change the dynamics of law through majorities in both Houses of congress and through the presidency; and to change the dynamics of the law through rigthtwinger ideologues seated in federal courts across America.
Don't gamble as to who may be president in this close Kerry-Bush race; instead, cast insurance as to who may be the majority party in the U.S. Senate.
VOTE for KEN SALAZAR !
