What's this about absentee ballots and postage? |
|
Buzz at the vet's office is that a bunch of absentee ballots were sent out with instructions to put a 37 cent stamp on them, when in fact they require more postage?
Anyone heard this?

1. We had that problem in Calif. I got resolved quickly |

Our local news flashed a warning to add extra postage if you had more than an ounce weight in your absentee ballots. Some counties did have more than an ounce (in paper weight) other's were fine.
It freaked out the local voters so the post office said it would NOT send the ballots back for this one day because it is too important to get those ballots in. The post office also said it would CHARGE the counties for the extra postage...afterwards.
SO CHECK CLOSELY... And don't forget to sign them!

my husband filled out an absentee ballot for Illinois. It had a place for a stamp, but elsewhere on the envelope it said no stamp was required unless it was mailed from outside CONUS.
