Some Moran on CPR's Colorado Matters. |
|
I was driving to work today and as usual I had it on NPR listening to Colorado Matters. The host was questioning some guy on education issues. And I tell you, this guy sounded like a complete idiot. He spoke in very vague generalities and was really making very little sense. He said education needs to return to the good ol' days and basically said that teachers don't want students to succeed. I swear he might have given a customary glance to whatever talking points he was issued. Turns out it was none other than Pete Coors himself. I couldn't stop laughing. This is the best the GOP can throw? I can't wait see Coors and Salazar debate on Meet The Press, provided they are doing that again this cycle. Check it out...very entertaining.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is guvernator of California. Gopher from the Love Boat won a congressional seat in Iowa. A B-movie actor was President. George W Bush gloats in his own stupidity, bragging about his gentleman's C's and how a crappy student can become President.
These are the same people you are saying will reject that nice Pete Coors they all know from his homey commercials.
I would dearly love to be proven wrong on this one. Salazar might have beaten Schaeffer, but if he beats Coors, it will be a major upset.
Pete Coors is a major force behind the VRWC. I would dearly love for him to lose.

5. I've been hearing talk of Schaeffer turning indy |

he's pretty bitter over Coors and everyone jumping ship. A republican friend of mine hates Coors with a passion and would almost like to see Coors lose if he gets the nod. Splitting the GOP would be a dream...

6. The right-wingers I know are ecstatic about Coors. |

However, they'd vote for damned near anyone with an R after their name. If Hitler were reincarnated and ran as a Republican, they'd still find reasons why Salazar is worse than Hitler.
1) Hitler is pro-death penalty and probably anti-abortion for whites. 2) Hitler was pro-business and anti-union. 3) He was vehemently anti-communist. 4) He didn't let civil liberties stand in the way of national security. 5) He was able to correctly frame the war as 'us versus them'.

. . . like, say, pre 1954?
Moran is right. You don't get more white-bread than Pete Coors.

7. Heard him last night. I shouted at the radio like you wouldn't believe!! |

There are few people I know who have fewer brain cells to rub together than Mr. Drinky-poo. (The fact that he makes crappy beer is beside the point.)
He totally missed the point that not all parents are well to do, middle class folk with mom at home baking cookies. His story about the wrestler was crap - of course a kid with a stake in school activities will keep zer grades up and get help when needed. The trick is figuring out how to empower and include the kids who DON'T have a stake in school.
If he'd come up with a trick for that, (Like Mike Miles has....) I'd steal it and hand it to Salazar.
I'm not happy about Salazar, but if he's on the ticket in November, he has my vote.
