Is Broomfield, CO infested with Bushites?
I just found out that a favorite teacher from my school days who lives in Broomville is a bushite and wondering if it's just the neighborhood.

Also, I have to say that I'm utterly perplexed that a state as pretty as Colorado is red. What's up with that?

1. o my goodness yes
Broomfield is very red, in fact most of the state is all red, like Idaho, except that we have a couple of blue urban areas--Denver, Boulder, Aspen/Telluride, and everything else (Vail, CO Springs the ranching areas) red like a heifer.

The rural areas are typical Bush country, and then there's a lot of Republican "retirees"

2. But our state legislature is Dem majority
Here in Lakewood, an old conservative area, my house and senate reps are Dems. So, we'e pretty purple. The tide is turning. My neighbor who voted for shrub in 2000 voted third party this last election. Couldn't bring himself to vote Repuke.

3. The San Luis Valley has many democratic voters.
And Pueblo, Manitou Springs and parts of west Colorado Springs are pretty liberal.

6. I'd call it purple
but with a more reddish tinge. But I'm from Boulder County, and think Broomfield is full of money-grubbing suckers who don't give a damn about their citizens.

7. I don't know but would love to know if they voted paperless
I'd think Broomfield was purple, but they voted for Bush. I live near Gilpin, the gambling county. They have always been red (neck) but in the last election they voted for Kerry. They probably also had a paper trail. Don't know if anybody did an analysis of which way the counties voted in 2000 versus 2004 for President and what system their votes were counted on.

15. Broomfield votes with scan cards -- at least in my precinct.
(The cards where you color in the bubble next to your choice.)

8. Colorado is historically centrist
With aberrant periods, such as when the Klan controlled the state and more recently when the fascists did. (Almost joking.) But we do seem to be swinging back towards blue.

9. Yes BF is red, but I talk to a lot of Democrats there too. Nice library.
In fact, Dennis Kucinich made a speech at the new auditorium in BF. One day they may realize that bu$h was bad for America's future.

14. Colorado will be blue soon...
Actually I think Colorado is more blue than most people think. There are basically three blue districts, three red districts, and one purple district. But the purple seems to be changing blue rapidly.

District 1 - Denver - Blue
District 2 - Boulder/summit county - Blue
District 3 - Western Colorado/Pueblo - Blue
District 4 - Eastern Colorado/Fort Collins - Red
District 5 - Colorado Springs - Red
District 6 - Suburbs south of Denver - Red
District 7 - Suburbs north of Denver - Purple

You guys should be happy. I on the other hand live in Comal county in the wealthy suburbs of San Antonio, TX. So, I live in a republican state, outside of a republican city, in a wealthy republican county. I have a republican city council, state rep, federal rep, two republican senators, a republican governor, and a republican president. Not a single democrat as far as the eye can see.

Somebody give me a reason not to slash my jugular!

17. I went to a "support Cindy" vigil one night, and at least 50
people showed up. It was arranged last minute, so I think that was strong turnout.

That said, my daughter does complain to me about how everyone at her high school is a Bushbot.
