Who all went to see Kerry in Denver today? |

If you went, what did you think of it?
I got there pretty late, close to 4pm, but Kerry still hadn't spoken yet. I even had enough time to heckle a guy with a huge poster of an aborted fetus, and heckle a group of Republican hecklers.:)
I thought the speech was pretty good. I couldn't see anything though, because there was another huge poster of an aborted fetus right up front of where I was, blocking the view.
I did manage to catch a few glimpses of him after the speech, when most of the crowd had left.
It was a very impressive sized crowd, and I'm glad that he decided to come out here.

1. I wanted to, but had to work. |

Glad to hear there was a good crowd. Considering how cold and rainy it was, I thought they'd have to cancel.

and it rained for at least the next two hours. Thought I had a good place picked out so I'd get to shake hands afterwards (like I did Clinton in `92) but Kerry stayed in the crowd up front. The organizers sent some of my section up there before he started to speak, but I stayed put -- wrong choice. Much tighter security now than when Clinton was in Denver.
Mayor Hickenlooper, Bill Ritter, and Cole Finegan were in the crowd near me. Pena, Fitz-Gerald, Romanoff, and Hart were all good. Kerry's speech was okay. He got there late and I was mostly feeling cold and wet by that time. Walking out, it looked like there was a good crowd in back.

3. I was way in the back, behind the barricades |

I'm really glad that I got there so late, so I didn't end up standing in the rain for a couple of hours. The rain had finally stopped by the time I got there.
I missed all the other speeches, but I was really there to hear Kerry, so I didn't mind.
I guess the security was necessary. There was a good sized group of Pukes with bullhorns in the outer area. Who knows what type of nutcase could show up in the current political climate.

Got to see him speak. Got to shake his hand and got a free shirt a pompom and a couple of signs. He came off well.
