Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar has hauled in $2.5 million in campaign donations for his U.S. Senate bid, his campaign announced Wednesday.
Salazar, one of the top money-raisers among Democratic Senate candidates nationwide, is collecting donations at a blistering pace compared with previous Senate campaigns in Colorado.
Most of the money - $2 million - came in during the three months ending June 30. Salazar joined the Senate race on March 10.
About half of the contributions came from out of state. More than 2,000 Coloradans gave donations of less than $100.
