Two Obama campaign staffers open county office in RidgwayAs an indication about how willing the Barack Obama campaign to extend its grass roots effort to capture the battleground state of Colorado in the November election, on Monday it opened an office in Ridgway.
Obama's Campaign for Change will opened three new offices across the state, with four new offices bring the total number of offices statewide to 39, with the Ridgway office at 555 Clinton, in the former Independence Cafe building serving as the hub for two volunteers from Dallas, Nancy Lee and Sharon Valenti.
Both are recent trainees from Obama Boot Camp, where they were drilled in the areas of phone banking, canvassing, data entry and how to convince troublesome non-decided voters how to join the Democratic nominee's side.
"We are running this on a shoestring," Valenti said, although she added she wasn't complaining about having such a post assignment in Ridgway.
