My trip to the sand dunes and my bumper sticker observations... |
|
Well, I've lived here for 17 years and I just got back from my first trip to the sand dunes near Alamosa. That place is crazy cool and I had a blast. My friends brought some sleds to slide down on but they didn't work out. Nevertheless, I had a good time camping and hiking with my old high school pals. I'm kicking myself for not getting out there sooner.
Now for the bumper sticker stuff. The campground was 95% full, and there were cars from all over the country parked there. I didn't see a single * sticker. Furthermore, I drove all the way from the Springs through Walsenburg and the single * sticker I saw was in the parking lot at the sand dunes visitor center. I really thought I'd see more of them out in the rural areas.
Oh, and one more thing... at a Mexican restaurant in Alamosa I saw a guy with an "abolish corporate personhood" shirt and a "Bush war criminal" button. Was that any of you?

1. Interesting observations! |
|
I haven't been down that way for a while now........ but, I would think that part of the state, being quite hispanic, would naturally not be enamored of bushwa.
Of course, that doesn't account for tourists at Sand Dunes. :)
I hope you gave the guy in Alamosa a big grin and thumbsup sign. :)
Hmmm, maybe it was Ed Quillen on vacation? :hi:

2. The Only Place I See Bush Stickers Is Colorado Springs |
|
Very few in the Pueblo area. And fewer people are giving me the one-finger salute as they pass me on the interstate with my Kerry and "Anyone Byt Bush" stickers. A lot more thumbs up lately.

Yet, you told me Miles popularity in the Springs is meaningless, because it's soo "elite"...
Something here just doesn't quite match up, but oh well.... we get what we deserve........

6. I've Noticed One Thing This Weekend, Kanary.... |

The attitide you've displayed on this forum is typical of what I've seen from many Miles supporters -- obnoxious, loud, "know-it-all", and "I'm-better-than-you". Which is why more Coloradans are supporting Ken Salazar.

7. I have not really noticed that. |
|
Somewhat at the county and state conventions. But some have been pretty friendly too.

But, I think they have a lot of passion. That might be part of the deal.

...that does not give them the right to belittle the opinions of those who disagree with them.
Especially fellow Democrats.
