It sounds like after recent issues in the Frog Hollow neighborhood people were hungry for something positive and the Peace March got a wonderful response.

On March 19, the global day of action against the war in Iraq, CT United for Peace marched with 1200+ people in the streets in Hartford after a month long battle with city officials and the police dept. During the course of the month the city wanted to charge thousand of dollars for police services, public works and ambulance fees for the protest.

Protestors made their way to Barnard Park for an afternoon of music, poetry and speakers from the many groups across Connecticut. Protestors had traveled in carpools and caravans from Willimantic, New London, Danbury, Bridgeport, New Haven and Stamford/Greenwich to make this one of the biggest rallies that Connecticut had seen.
