HARTFORD, Conn. --A dispute between labor unions and the operator of the Connecticut Convention Center may force Connecticut Democrats to move their 2006 statewide convention to another location.
The lack of a labor agreement presents a major problem for Democrats, Leslie O'Brien, executive director of the Democratic State Central Committee, recently told the Journal Inquirer of Manchester.
Democrats have scheduled their annual convention for May 20 at the 6-month-old facility. In a break from tradition, the party was planning a one-day convention.
"But obviously we may have to move it if this issue exists because we can't cross a picket line," O'Brien said.
