HARTFORD, Conn. --Democratic lawmakers are considering reopening hearings into a campaign fundraiser for Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell after learning they did not receive all the information from an Elections Enforcement Commission investigation.
Members of the Government Administration and Elections Committee said Wednesday that an unedited draft report and a set of e-mails were not turned over to the legislative panel back in April, when the committee requested all relevant documents.
"I'm upset by the fact we had sought information from every witness. We thought we had that information, but apparently we didn't get it," said state Rep. Christopher Caruso, D-Bridgeport, co-chairman of the committee.
An attorney hired by the elections commission to investigate its handling of the case recently discovered the information had not been disclosed to lawmakers, The Hartford Courant reported in Wednesday's editions.
