Thank you Connecticut voters. |

Seriously. Let this be a referendum. I hope all of you will continue to work for the Lamont victory even harder than before. You are an inspiration to all those who still believe in grassroots. :toast:

but there's still work to do.
With Joe running as an Independent, we have to get out the votes to counteract all the Repukes who'll be voting for him.

Our volunteers did a great job this week. Thank you.
I'm sure we're all exhausted but I have to say the disgraceful non-concession speech has motivated me to do whatever it takes to rid our party of Joe Lieberman. Joe can't lose graciously and so he chooses to roll around in the mud. He stands there begging Republicans and out-of-state donors to save hi a$$ in November when he should be congratulating the winner. He whines about partisanship and talks about how we need to compromise more with the Republicans, but does he ever own up to his mistakes? Of course not, 18 years of denial goes a long way I guess.
Joe Lieberman has no class, and tonight he proved he has no shame either. Yes Joe, we're ready for round two, and this time we're not holding back.

Thank you from Illinois! I have the honor of saying my mother came from Connecticut, and I'm changing my avatar to Ned Lamont. I wonder when his avatars came available? I wonder how many people are getting them now?

Sometimes the first step is the most difficult to achieve - but Connecticut did it last night! Thanks again for taking the lead!

theme, while winning over those Republicans who hate the war and recognize the domestic failures of the current administration. You folks are bringing us a glimmer of hope.

We had a number of great things come together for us in Connecticut.
First - a fairly liberal and educated Democratic electorate
Second - people who are sick of the war, sick of the cowboy, and sick of his enablers
Third - places like this, Koz, guys like Seder on the radio and others getting the FACTS out and keeping us motivated.
Fourth - a great candidate! I've met Ned three times now, Annie visited my polling location for 45 minutes and she's terrific. And Ned's the real deal; a smart guy who listens and really gets it on many issues, and he's not afraid to LEAD.
Fifth - a whole lot of hard working MOTIVATED volunteers. At my location we had myself (all day!) - a fireman and family member of a 911 victim, a small business entrepreneur, an Iraqi who has lost 10 family members since "shock and awe", and a lovely teacher.
What did Lieberman have there? Nothing until mid-morning when a car dropped off three Lieber-youth (two teens) all wearing t-shirts. I asked the teens if they really wanted to go die in Iraq and they looked stunned. When we talked about the two candidates they admitted they really had no connection to the campaign but were there because they needed the $10/hr. They decided they liked our guy better and folded up their signs, sat down and waited out the 2 hours until their car arrived to pick them up.
I guess you could say Joe's support was pretty soft and based mostly on name recognition and an avalanche of newspaper endorsements. I hope many will come to know Ned better and join us next time out. I know it's hard to vote for change, but most people really want change. They just need US to give them the courage to make it happen. Permission granted!
