Simmons getting desparate? Mailer on stem cell research?

I got a mailer from Rob Simmons today where it was all about how he supported stem cell research. Is he trying to distance himself from Team Bush or what?

His TV ads have been nothing but his amazing military experience, terror, and "America's Mayor" telling us how great he is. I don't think he knows what he stands for anymore.
