I stood outside a New London polling place for almost fourteen hours, holding my Lamont sign, waving to the people I'd canvassed, and feeling exhilerated at all the thumbs up and big smiles I was getting.
Then, as the polls closed, I went to the Groton municipal building for the numbers. Ouch. Lamont actually won New London by 10%, but Groton prepared me for the state loss.
Andy Maynard is a great guy. I'm glad Groton pulled him through. And Welcome to DU!

I feel confident that Courtney will hold on to his lead. It is a comforting thought. I don't know how I would have felt if on top of Lieberman winning, Simmons won too. So I am trying to change my disappointment in Lamont's loss into enthusiasm for Courtney. He is a great guy and will make a wonderful representative for us. No Bush ass kissing there! :)

Maynard still needed our votes in Groton City to win bud. We may not have been a majority here, but they counted nonetheless.
