I just love Edith Prague! |
|
My buddy Doug just interviewed state senator Edith Prague (of Connecticut's 19th congressional district) on his college radio show to talk about the state's last governor, John Rowland, copping a guilty plea today. For years, Senator Prague had vocally excoriated Rowland, and she was no different on the radio just now! Among the things she said about the former governor:
"Rowland's despicable behavior has gotten Connecticut into a mess it'll be paying for for at least the next 10 years."
"I hope he gets exactly what he deserves."
"He cares about just one thing: John Rowland."
"The most corrupt governor Connecticut has ever had."
"A rotten human being."
"He has a colossal arrogance."
Needless to say, Edith Prague is a Democrat--a real Democrat, I mean. :kick:

1. A Republican co-worker of mine |

A Republican co-worker of mine that has met Rowland personally more than once and agrees on the colossal arrogance part...
Glad to see at least one Democrat besides Bill Curry speaking out.

2. So is Rowland the most corrupt |
|
Nutmegger of all time? I'm ignorant of a lot of the history of Connecticut, especially big swaths of the 1960-1960 part where it sometimes seems the whole industrial Northeast was in the pocket, so I don't know if Jovial John R. stands alone in our pantheon.
I hope this case doesn't just go away, though it probably will. Something this massive can't have happened in a void.
Night Train: "excoriated" is an excellent word; thanks for putting it up on DU :)
